A Journey, Three Heartbeats: From Egg Donation to Surrogacy
This is a journey that begins with helping others and slowly grows into one of carrying and welcoming new life into the world- Pinly's Story
She first encountered egg donation during her university years, taking her initial steps into a journey of helping others. What began as simple curiosity gradually evolved into a genuine desire to support others, as she came to understand the challenges of infertility and the emotional toll of trying to conceive. This led her to begin her first egg donation.
After completing two donation cycles, she gained a deeper appreciation for the patience, hope, and effort behind every new life. She also witnessed the joy of intended parents experiencing successful implantation. The process became more than a medical experience—it was a meaningful connection and a deeper understanding of others’ journeys.
Carrying this sense of purpose forward, she chose to become a surrogate. From building trust with the intended parents, to traveling to the United States for embryo transfer, and finally confirming a successful pregnancy back in Taiwan, each step unfolded with anticipation and hope.
The pregnancy itself was largely smooth, with the baby developing steadily. Each prenatal checkup brought reassurance and peace of mind. This was more than just an experience—it was a journey from helping to truly accompanying the creation of life, a choice through which love gradually took shape.
Part 1: Becoming an Egg Donor:
It all started during her university years, when Pinly first came across information about egg donation. What began as simple curiosity soon turned into something deeper. As she learned more about infertility and the emotional and physical challenges couples face, she began to understand how difficult the path to parenthood can be. That was when the idea of helping others first took root.
Young and healthy, she made the decision to donate her eggs—hoping to give couples struggling with infertility a chance at the most precious gift: a child. Her first experience was filled with nervousness. Daily injections, regular clinic visits, and the physical discomfort helped her truly realize how hard the process is for women trying to conceive. Although the first attempt did not lead to a successful pregnancy, it deepened her empathy and respect for the journey.
During her second donation, she felt more at ease. With experience came calmness, and the process went more smoothly. This time, she received wonderful news—a successful implantation, and the arrival of a healthy baby. That moment made everything worthwhile.
After two egg donation experiences, Pinly discovered something more: helping others brought her genuine joy. Having also given birth to her own children, she realized that for some women, the challenge is not egg quality, but the ability to carry a pregnancy. That realization led her to a new path—becoming a surrogate.
Part 2: Becoming a Surrogate
Her first meeting with the intended parents was filled with warmth and sincerity. Through conversations, trust was built. After completing the necessary preparations, she traveled to the United States for embryo transfer, carrying both hope and quiet uncertainty.
Two weeks after returning to Taiwan, she saw the pregnancy test turn positive—two clear lines. In that moment, she felt a connection, as if this little life had chosen to be part of her journey.
Her pregnancy progressed smoothly. There was little discomfort, and each check-up brought reassurance. The baby grew steadily, healthy and strong. At times, she would talk to the baby, gently reminding him that he was deeply loved and eagerly awaited by his parents.
As the due date approached, there were signs of labor, but things did not go exactly as planned. Despite efforts for a natural delivery, complications arose, and a cesarean section became necessary. Without hesitation, she trusted the medical team.
And then, in the operating room, the moment arrived. The instant she saw the baby safely brought into the world, everything—the journey, the effort, the uncertainty—became worth it.
Because at the end of it all, what mattered most was simple: A healthy baby, and a family finally made whole..

The path to building a family can be complex, but you are not alone. There are compassionate women who choose to help carry this dream forward. With the right support, clear communication, and trust, this journey can become one of connection, hope, and new beginnings
